St. Nicholas in Buterland

On December 6, a visitor came to the school again. St. Nicholas was a guest at the Buterland School. With his warm and friendly manner, the first graders met the man in the red robe, accompanied by his large, golden book and the familiar sound of his little bell.

The children also rehearsed a little something for him, which delighted him greatly. The first-year pupils then listened intently as Santa Claus addressed a few personal words to them. Of course, he also had praise for the many hard-working pupils, but also a few small tips on what could perhaps be done even better - always with a loving wink.

St. Nicholas also had a brief moment for the older classes. As he walked through the school, he cheerfully greeted all the other classes in the classroom doorway and made his message of community and joy felt everywhere.

As every year, there was a sweet treat for all the pupils this time too: freshly baked mare's cheeks that St. Nicholas had brought with him. These were distributed in the classes and made for bright eyes and full bellies.

A big thank you goes to St. Nicholas for taking the time to visit our school and the many helping hands that made his visit so special. It was an unforgettable day that enriched the Advent season at our school in a wonderful way.
