As part of the "Kulturstrolche" program of the city of Gronau, the children of the fourth year had the opportunity to demonstrate their dancing skills both publicly and within the school. Last Sunday, they performed at the Christmas market in the town center and presented their dance to the song "Santa Claus is coming to town" by Justin Bieber. The performance was very well received by the audience.
Another performance took place on Wednesday in the school's own sports hall so that the other pupils at Buterland School could also experience the results of the weeks of practice. The children once again danced in winter costumes under the direction of Angelika Buss-Engemann, who had accompanied the project with great commitment. The morning was divided into three rounds: First, the fourth year performed for the children of the first year, then for the second year and finally for the third year.
Each round consisted of two parts. First, the children performed the rehearsed dance. This was followed by a join-in dance in which the audience got active themselves. The children were encouraged to join in with simple movements to the song "Der Weihnachtsmann tanzt so" by the Großstadt Engeln. Everyone took part in the activity with visible joy. Even the teachers were really taken with the movements to the song.
Special thanks go to Angelika Buss-Engemann, who has rehearsed with the children every Thursday since the end of October. Her commitment, patience and time contributed significantly to the success of this project.
