Today we had visitors from the surrounding kindergartens. The children, who will be starting school in the coming school year, took the opportunity to get to know their future school and gain their first impressions.
After a warm welcome from Ms. Hüning and a short dance interlude to "Tanz mit Tante Rita" (Dance with Aunt Rita), we set off on an exciting scavenger hunt. This was accompanied by the third-year pupils. In the coming school year, they will take on the important role of mentors as fourth graders. The newcomers explored the school building and grounds with a great deal of joy and curiosity, solved tasks and came into contact with their new learning environment in a playful way.
After a successful scavenger hunt, the children were allowed into the classrooms, where creative activities were already waiting for them. Together with their future sponsors, they painted signs of the class animals. Soon they will be visiting the koala, raccoon or meerkat class. Drinks and snacks made for a cozy atmosphere.
The visit ended with a cheerful get-together in the school playground. There, the godparents played together with the future first graders, strengthening the first bonds between "big" and "small".
At the same time, the children from the first year had a great time at the nearby Schützenplatz. They were accompanied by their mentors from the fourth school year. Various games and a joint soccer match focused on the shared experience.
The entire team at Buterland School is very much looking forward to welcoming the new schoolchildren and starting an exciting new school year!
