As part of their science lessons, the children in year two have been working on the topic of "vehicles" over the past few weeks. They investigated the most important characteristics that make a fast and well-functioning vehicle. Working individually or in pairs, the pupils designed and built their own small vehicles and tried out different materials, shapes and construction methods.
Today, Monday, the eagerly awaited big race finally took place in the school playground. All the children from classes 2a, 2b and 2c came together to race their vehicles against each other. The aim was to find out which of the self-built vehicles could cover the greatest distance.
It was an exciting competition with many close decisions. In the end, the winners were decided:
- 3rd place: Jonas (2b)
- 2nd place: Paul and Ignacy (2a)
- 1st place: Simon and Thies (2b)
The race was a special experience for everyone involved. In addition to the sporting competition, the main focus was on the joy of tinkering, building and trying things out together. The children could be proud of their achievements - not only of their placings, but also of their creativity and spirit of research.
