Farewell

If you get kicked out, you've made it!

As every year, the last day of school at Buterland School was a special event that moved pupils, teachers and parents alike. In slightly cloudy weather, all classes gathered for the last time in front of the entrance to the old building, in keeping with long-standing tradition. The program began there with the award ceremony for the winning classes of the "Walk to School" campaign. Classes 1c, 2c, 3b and 4a proudly accepted their awards.

Afterwards, Ms. Hüning gave the closing speech on the stairs of the old building. She warmly thanked everyone who had contributed to the successful school year: the OGS, the janitor team, the school administration, the teaching staff and especially the dedicated parents.

A touching surprise followed when Mrs. Hüning was presented with a gift. There was a lovingly designed photo collage as a token of gratitude. All the children in the fourth year had signed it, along with current class photos from the photo campaign at the beginning of July.

The music was enhanced by the creative vocal interludes. These included "Zusammen" by Fantastischen Vier, as well as specially rewritten lyrics to the melodies of "Medusa" (Lewinray) and "Au Revoir" (Milano). Then it was time for the big kick-out to begin. Mr. Timmer was also kicked out that day. The reason for this was the end of his employment.

The staff of the Buterland School wishes all students, parents and companions a relaxing summer vacation, relaxation and a successful start to the new school year.
