The annual sports festival took place at Buterland School at the beginning of June - a day full of exercise, team spirit and enthusiasm. In glorious weather, pupils, teachers and many committed parents gathered on the school grounds, as well as on the adjacent Schützenplatz, to experience a varied sports program together.
A colorful mix of classic and modern sports stations awaited the children. In addition to the well-known disciplines such as the 50-meter sprint, the long throw and the long jump, this year's new and creative activities in particular generated a great deal of enthusiasm. For example, the pupils were able to put their aim and speed to the test in goal wall shooting and speed shooting. The obstacle race through the playground, the memory race, the tower game, the cornhole throwing, the basketball throwing and the obstacle course with sponge also offered plenty of variety and demanded teamwork, skill and endurance. The focus was particularly on the common goal: the stations were not only mastered individually, but as a whole class. The team spirit and mutual support were clearly noticeable and contributed to a great atmosphere.
There were also two highlights for breaks in between: a station for practicing a choreography for a later community dance and a large bouncy castle. Both attractions not only delighted the children, but also attracted the attention of many parents.
A special highlight was the grand finale for the children of the third and fourth year: the 800-meter run. All the children gave their best here. They were loudly cheered on by the teaching staff, and some teachers even joined in to motivate them. The effort and commitment of everyone involved made this moment an emotional conclusion to the festival.
A big thank you goes to the parents who made the sports festival possible with their active support. Whether at the stations or as motivating companions - without them, this successful day would not have been possible to this extent.
