Over the course of the current school year, selected children from the third year have been trained as mediators. The training has been taking place since the beginning of the year under the guidance of Ms. Saalmann. The children met once a week to learn together how to recognize, de-escalate and resolve conflicts fairly.

The children successfully completed their training just in time for the end of the school year. They are now well prepared to take on their role as mediators in the school playground in the coming fourth school year. There they will support their classmates in disputes, listen to them and help them find solutions together.
Important tasks of the mediators in the schoolyard include
- Listening neutrally to children in dispute and understanding the perspectives of both sides.
- Developing solutions together with those involved that everyone agrees with.
- To ensure peaceful and respectful coexistence in the school playground.
The mediator training will continue in the coming school year. In addition to more children from the fourth year, pupils from the third year will again have the opportunity to take part in the training. The aim is to build up a reliable and strong team of mediators at the school in the long term.
