Reading Day

Stories with a future for little ears

On Friday, November 15, the Buterland School was all about the nationwide Reading Aloud Day 2024. Under the motto "Reading aloud creates the future", exciting reading activities took place that brought the children closer to the joy of reading in a creative and lively way.

Each teacher had chosen a suitable book for the theme to present the children with a story with a future perspective. It wasn't just a case of reading aloud: Accompanying painting and craft activities such as designing a time machine or imaginative make-up stations transformed the stories into an interactive experience.

The reading methods were as varied as the stories themselves. While some teachers projected the pictures large on the wall, others held the traditional picture book in their hands. The children experienced stories that told of fascinating visions of the future, adventures or courageous heroes.

The motto not only stimulated the children's imagination, but also conveyed how important reading and storytelling are for shaping our common future.
