The entire school day was dedicated to the pre-Christmas atmosphere and offered plenty of space for creative activities. All the classrooms were cut, glued, painted and decorated, gradually transforming the school into an atmospheric winter wonderland.
In the morning, the students set to work with great enthusiasm. The first year in particular was a hive of activity. Empty jars were transformed into glowing candle holders. They then created lovingly decorated Advent calendar bags, which later found their place in the classroom.
The second year used various materials to create wintry works of art. They created delicate snowflakes from ear sticks, colorful window pictures from transparent paper and little Santa Clauses from collected wooden branches.
The third year also showed imagination and craftsmanship. Gnomes were made from wooden sticks, yarn and patterned paper. Table tennis balls served as the basis for original snowflakes, and paper plates were transformed into Christmas wreaths using strips of green paper.
In the fourth year, numerous decorative elements were created: Wooden sticks were arranged into stars, fir trees and reindeer, while other groups created trees and candles using various folding techniques. Colorful Christmas baubles and paper pendants were also created.
During all these activities, well-known Christmas songs played in the background, creating a cozy and cheerful atmosphere. Songs such as "All I Want for Christmas" or "Kling Glöckchen, klingelingelingeling" accompanied the crafts and enhanced the festive mood.
In the third and fourth lessons, the children were given a choice: Those who still had ideas could continue crafting; all others were allowed to make themselves comfortable in their classroom with a Christmas or winter movie.
At the end of the day, the classrooms were colorful and lovingly decorated. The numerous handicrafts and window decorations made it unmistakably clear that the Advent season is about to begin.
