"We strengthen social togetherness!" - was the motto of the project week from April 17 to 21, 2023 at the Buterland School. As a prelude to the week, the children learned about a "tassel foehr" in a play. This allowed them to realize that mishaps happen to everyone else. Those situations do not have to be endured alone and will take a positive turn with a little time. On two days of the week, the children could choose different workshops according to their interests. Among other things, they sewed worry eaters, rehearsed plays, RAP songs and dances, or baked waffles for the other children. Other students dealt with children's rights or social media, read different children's books, made stop motion movies or were trained as referees. On these days, children of all ages worked together and were able to learn from and with each other. One day of the projects was reserved for intensive class collaboration. The children were able to share their collected experiences from the workshops, talked about feelings in their learning group, built a sports parkour together for school, read books or had a barbecue in the school garden. In this way, the "class we" of all learning groups could be strengthened. The project week ended as it began: Another play was performed in the gym. Through the play "Hero or Chicken", the children were sensitized to proper behavior in bullying situations. In conclusion, it can be said that everyone involved enjoyed the project week very much and that social interaction at the Buterland School was strengthened. In keeping with the Jazz Festival, colorfully painted wooden panels now hang on the construction fence at the Hertie site during the project week as well. These were designed by the first graders and the fourth graders. Now the panels can be found on the side of the Hertie site on Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse.
The plate for the competition is located at the top of Kurt-Schumacher-Platz. The prize is a city voucher in the amount of 100€. For our plate to win, we need a lot of votes until May 25.
