Reading adventures in the public library

As part of their curriculum, the second-grade students visited the Gronau Public Library. Classes 2a, 2b, and 2c each went on three separate field trips to get to know the library and discover its diverse cultural offerings. At the same time, the visit was intended to spark a love of reading and stimulate the children’s imaginations.

Just browsing the shelves sparked a lot of excitement. The students discovered a huge selection of books and media. As always, books featuring exciting animal and fantasy stories, as well as manga and comics, were particularly popular. Many children took their time leafing through their favorite books and discovering new stories.

The Gronau City Library, together with its branch, the Epe Library, serves as an important cultural gathering place for the city. With approximately 80,000 items, it offers a diverse selection for all ages. In addition to books, the library offers Tonies®, TipToi® media, CDs, DVDs, and digital media via the online portal “muensterload.de.” Visitors can also use public computers and internet stations and participate in numerous events.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the team at the Gronau Public Library, who took so much time to work with the school classes. With great dedication and kindness, they introduced the children to the world of books. The visit sparked curiosity about new stories in many of them—and perhaps even laid the foundation for a lifelong love of reading.
