The third grade has been working intensively on the topic of "books" since the Easter vacations. During the vacations, each child independently read a book that they had chosen themselves. Back at school, this reading was taken up again in class and explored in greater depth.
The focus was on creative engagement with the chosen book. Each child had the task of engaging intensively with their story and presenting the content in a special way. The "reading box" project was implemented for this purpose. A reading box is a creative project to promote reading, in which a shoebox is designed and filled to match a book that has been read. The children selected suitable objects, pictures and other design elements that reflect important aspects of their story.
With a great deal of commitment and imagination, they created individual and impressive reading boxes that presented the content of the books in a vivid way. It was a proud achievement for the pupils to engage so creatively with literature and make their results visible.
The final event was the presentation of the reading boxes to the classmates. The children had the opportunity to present their books and explain their creative ideas.
The staff of the Buterland School are delighted with the successful and creative exploration of literature and hope that the pupils' love of reading has been awakened.
