Honors

A leap through the world of numbers

In March 2026, the pupils in years three and four took part in the Kangaroo competition in mathematics, as they do every year. The children tackled the varied and sometimes tricky math problems with great concentration and a lot of fun. It was not just math skills that were required, but above all logical thinking and perseverance.

The winners from left: Thore (3c), Lilly (4b), Evi (3a), Jonna (4a), Julia (3b)

The following students were particularly successful this year:

  2. First place: Evi (3a), Julia (3b)
  3. Place: Thore (3c)

Year 4:

Ms. Targas announces the winners.

It is remarkable that Lilly has won the class for the second time in a row.

A special award in the kangaroo competition is the so-called "kangaroo jump". This is awarded for the largest number of consecutive correct answers and is rewarded with a T-shirt. This year, Lilly from class 4b was also able to earn this additional honor. With an outstanding performance of 12 correct answers in a row, this is a remarkable achievement.

But all the other participants did not go away empty-handed either: Each child received a prize of special black and white building blocks. These can be put together in creative ways to create different figures and objects.

The staff of the Buterland School would like to congratulate all participants - especially the winners!
